Fieldtrips - Mt Lassen Packing Lists

Packing lists for students, chaperones and groups.

Directions

  • Complete all required school forms
  • Clearly label all your equipment with your name
  • Bring your completed pack to the classroom on the Friday before the trip.

Equipment

  • 1 Day pack
  • 1 Duffle bag
  • 1 Sleeping bag and pad
  • 1 Blanket
  • 1 Tent with ground cover tarp (you may share with others in your group)

Clothing

  • 1 Sun hat
  • 2-3 Light colored long pants
  • 1 Long sleeved shirt
  • 4 t-shirts
  • 4 Sets of underclothes
  • 1 Set of warm sleeping clothes (such as hooded sweatshirt or knit beanie cap.) 
  • 1 Pair hiking boots
  • 1 Pair tennis shoes
  • 1 Windbreaker
  • 1 Sweater or sweatshirt
  • 1 Swimsuit

Toiletries

  • 1 Toothbrush with toothpaste
  • 1 Brush and/or comb
  • 1 Washcloth
  • 1 Towel
  • 1 Biodegradable soap
  • All required medicine/inhaler
  • Classroom supplies (as assigned by teacher)

Safety

  • Medical release/permission slip (Required. You may not leave without it.) 
  • All required medication and equipment, i.e. inhaler (Must store with adult.) 
  • 1 Sunscreen
  • 1 Flashlight or headlamp (extra batteries)
  • 1 Water bottle or canteen (2 liters)
  • 1 Mess kit (cup, knife, fork, spoon) (Plate will be supplied by the class.)

Optional

  • Camera
  • Binoculars
  • Books and games
  • Camp chair
  • Pillow (optional)

Not allowed on school field trips

  • Electronic gadgets (radios, CDs, MP3 Players, Gameboys, etc.)
  • Soda
  • Candy or other personal foods
  • Non-approved medicine
  • Matches/lighters (Supplied by chaperones)
  • DEET insect repellent

  • Specific project supplies and equipment, such as telescopes
  • 1 Personal first aid kit
