Class of 2020 - Student Field Trip Guidelines

Safety First

  1. Label your belongings, and keep track of them.
  2. Bring the right clothes for the trip.
  3. Never distract drivers while a vehicle is in motion.
  4. Pay attention to teachers and chaperones, and follow their directions.
  5. Be on time, and stay with the group.
  6. Walk, don’t run.
  7. When we visit facilities, don’t touch anythingo images unless specifically allowed to by their staff.
  8. Do not enter a business and do not make purchases without the teacher’s permission.
  9. Drink plenty of water.
  10. Don’t aggravate wildlife, especially big ones.
  11. Don’t keep food in your tent.
  12. Keep your camp VERY clean.
  13. Don’t climb dead trees.
  14. Ask permission before leaving the group, such as to go to the restroom, and always go with a buddy.
  15. Don’t swim without the teacher’s permission, and only when an adult is on duty.
  16. Do not keep medication unless given specific permission to do so. All medication should be held by your supervising chaperone or teacher.

Do your best

  1. Think before you speak.
  2. Think before you act.
  3. Face each new challenge with courage.
  4. If at first you don’t succeed, try again.
  5. Speak quietly.
  6. Use respectful language and good manners.
  7. Help others succeed.
  8. Pay attention to rangers, docents, lifeguards, chaperones, teachers, police, road signs, sharp stones, seagulls, bears, and follow their directions.

Have fun

  1. Participate with your group.
  2. Cook well; eat well.
  3. Seek the best in others.
  4. Don’t play favorites.
  5. Avoid gossip and other distracting conversations.
